Ankle fractures are the most common fractures in the lower limbs and are often accompanied by dislocation. Their severity, treatment and functional prognosis vary a lot, depending on the injured structures. It can be treated with a plaster or may require repair surgery.

    Pain in the inner part of the ankle, in the malleolus of the tibia

Pre-hospital care recommendations

Take over-the-counter pain relievers or anti-inflammatories.
Straighten and immobilize the affected limb.
Do not move the affected limb.
