Female genital bleeding caused by a disorder in the genitourinary system, generally myomas, polyps, ulcers or tumors. It manifests with bleeding that is more intense and/or lasts longer than normal. If it appears after the menopause, an early test must be performed to rule out cervical neoplasia. The tests are regularly performed with a gynecological examination and an ultrasound scan. In many cases the treatment for the cause is surgical.
