Foot trauma - Foot contusion

Very low urgency
Common-
A contusion or blow to the foot causes a non-penetrating injury (without wound) but with severe pain, bruising and swelling that makes it difficult to walk. A physical examination studies the trauma and the x-ray rules out fractures when necessary. Common painkillers are often sufficient. It is a good idea to apply a cold compress for the first two days after the injury. You should seek medical attention if the pain persists or if it limits the movement of your foot.
