Low urgency
-Moderately severe
It is a malignant tumor that causes uncontrolled growth of the cells that make up the prostate, which is the gland situated below the urinary bladder in men. Predisposing factors: being over the age of 65 years old, of African-American race with a family history of prostate cancer. It generally develops without symptoms. Diagnosis is clinical and is confirmed with the prostate-specific antigen in the blood and a prostate biopsy. Treatment will depend on the characteristics of the cancer, the location and the patient's age. Radiotherapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy and surgery may be applied, either on their own or in combination.
