Testicular inflammation - Orchitis

Medium urgency
--
Orchitis is the swelling (inflammation) of one or both testicles. It may be a consequence of an infection produced by several types of bacteria and viruses. The symptoms include testicle pain, blood in semen, secretion of the penis, fever, groin pain, pain during intercourse or on ejaculation, pain when passing urine (dysuria), swelling of the scrotum, swollen and sensitive groin region on the affected side and sensitive, inflamed testicle with a feeling of heaviness. The diagnosis is performed through clinical history and a complete physical examination. Treatment is based on anti-inflammatory drugs, analgesia, antibiotics (if the infection is produced by bacteria), bed rest with elevation of the scrotum and applying ice packs to the region.
