Very low urgency
Common-
It is a benign inflammatory condition of the skin, present in about half of newborns. It usually appears between the first and third day of life and disappears a few days or weeks later.
The main symptom is the appearance of a rash with small yellow or whitish papules on red skin. It appears anywhere on the body and can change location as time progresses.
The diagnosis is made by the pediatrician through physical examination, without requiring any diagnostic tests.
If a rash appears that worries you, you can discuss it with your pediatrician, but this is a totally benign process that causes no discomfort to the baby and disappears spontaneously without the need for special care or treatment.
