Trauma to the eye

Very low urgency
--

Lesion produced in the eye as a consequence of the action of an external force or energy.

The causes may be a blow, violence or impact with an object.

The symptoms are pain and redness of the eye. In order to diagnose it and rule out complications, the specialist will analyze your medical history and perform a physical examination.

Treatment is based on pain control with oral analgesics or anesthetic eye drops, cleansing with saline solution and ocular rest.

You should see an ophthalmologist if the pain persists after a few days, if you lose vision or if you detect any abnormal symptoms in your eye, such as foreign body sensation or changes in the iris or pupil.
