Injury to the nose as a result of the action of an external force or energy.
The causes may be a fall, violence, accident or blow.
The symptoms are pain, inflammation, bleeding, difficulty breathing.
In order to diagnose it, the specialist will perform a physical examination and, if considered appropriate, will request an X-ray.
Treatment is based on the usual analgesics for pain and local cold to reduce inflammation. If there is bleeding, it is recommended to sit down, lean forward, breathe through the mouth and cover the nostrils with your fingers until the bleeding stops. If it does not stop, you should see a doctor for tamponade or vessel closure. If you are taking anticoagulants or the bleeding is abundant, go immediately to the emergency department.
