Very low urgency
--
Injury to the buttocks as a result of the action of an external force or energy.
The causes can be a fall, blow, or muscle strain while doing sport.
The most frequent symptoms are pain, haematoma and inflammation.
The diagnosis is through clinical questioning of the patient and a physical examination. And, if your doctor believes that the coccyx bone may be affected, an X-ray will be performed as well.
The treatment is based on regular analgesics plus rest and reducing the haematoma and inflammation with indirect local cooling.
If the mobility of the leg worsens or pain is very severe or it does not yield with regular painkillers, you should go to the A&E.
