Schizotypal personality traits

Very low urgency
--

Personality type that manifests itself in people who may appear eccentric and usually have few close relationships.

It occurs because they do not understand how relationships are formed, may misinterpret other people's behaviour and develop a distrust of other people.

The risk of schizotypal personality disorder is increased by having a relative with schizophrenia or another type of psychotic disorder.

They are characterised by being a solitary person with a lack of remorse, empathy, superficiality in relationships and intense fear of being observed and judged by others. They believe in mental telepathy or superstitions, wear extravagant and dishevelled clothing.

Diagnosis is based on the finding of these symptoms in the medical interview and medical history.

Treatment includes a combination of psychotherapy and medication for anxiety or depression.
