Very low urgency
Common-
It's a non-penetrating injury due to a low-to-mid intensity blow to one or several toes.
It is usually produced by a direct blow of the toe against a hard blunt object. The most common causes are injuries on contact sports, ball sports, occupational and home accidents.
It manifests with intense pain in the toe, haematoma and inflammation, which may impair movement.
The diagnosis is reached through clinical questioning and physical examination.
The treatment is symptomatic, with local cooling, foot rising and antiinflammatory treatment.
