ヘルペス （ 口唇ヘルペス）はヘルペスで最も一般的な形状です。
単純ヘルペス（HSV）と呼ばれる非常に伝染力の強いウイルスが原因で発症します。
ヘルペスがある皮膚は硬く、荒れていてかゆみがあります。唇では小さい炎症した小嚢が現れ、しばし痛みと膿を伴い、その後かさぶたが形成されます。ヘルペスは通常口の外側か唇上か口の周辺にできます。
口の中にあるときは、たいてい歯茎か口蓋にできます。通常は数週間で自然になくなります。抗ウイルス性薬剤が治癒を早めます。通常治療はクリームを塗布します。
