生殖器疱疹是由单纯疱疹病毒（HSV）引起的性传播疾病。
有两种类型的单纯疱疹病毒（HSV）：HSV 1型（HSV-1）常常影响口腔和嘴唇，HSV 2型（HSV-2）通常会导致生殖器疱疹。
最初的表现可能是严重的疼痛性生殖器溃疡（生殖器区域，直肠和大腿的受累）和体质症状（不适，发烧，食欲减退，肌肉疼痛，淋巴结肿大）;而在其他情况下，它可能是轻微的或无症状的。
通过详细的临床病史，体格检查和培养病变样本获得诊断。
虽然没有治愈方法，但应该用镇痛药（扑热息痛，布洛芬，水杨酸等）治疗疼痛，并对疮进行冷敷。使用阿昔洛韦进行抗逆转录病毒治疗并不能治愈感染，但可以减轻症状，减少疾病暴发的持续时间。
