它是大脚趾的渐进性畸形，指向外侧（朝向第二脚趾）。手指的位置有利于与鞋类的摩擦，引起疼痛和炎症。
原因不明，女性更常见。
特征症状是关节疼痛和带愈伤组织的红色区域，其中骨头与鞋子摩擦。
通过足部的临床病史和体格检查进行诊断。
治疗的基础是预防，通过使用舒适的鞋子，手指空间。在更进化的病例中，手术可能是必要的。
